Aguilar is one of those deserts of our province who have no access road to reach it, we must take a bridle path in Santa Liestra (unmarked) in little over an hour will take us to Aguilar. In the second part of the road (after passing the gorge) there are some sections where it is difficult to follow the path it barely stands out in the woods and you have to pull for intuition to reach our destination. Aguilar was a town made up of twenty houses scattered somewhat, in addition to the school, the teacher's house, the abbey and the church of Our Lady in the mystery of her Conception, built in the late XVI. Caught my attention within the church that banks are marked with the name of each of the houses in the village. The vegetation is gradually taking over the village, it is difficult to move around some of the streets. It is situated at 950 meters and was almost completely deserted in the early seventies, mainly complicated by its location, while still residing in the town about 70 neighbors. In the middle of last century XX than one hundred neighbors and even a few years ago there were still 3 people surveyed. Nearby there find the hermitage of San Saturnino, is Romanesque but underwent considerable reform in the seventeenth century .
